The construction of upgrades and improvements to numerous wastewater manholes throughout the District is being financed by the State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control with joint funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the State of South Carolina. This project will provide rehabilitation to 102 manholes throughout the District, lining manholes with a protective epoxy coating, and replacing manhole frames and covers as needed. This project will also provide an improvement to the existing wastewater system which will extend the life of the infrastructure for the residents and businesses throughout the District. SRF programs operate around the country to provide states and communities the resources necessary to maintain and improve the infrastructure that protects our valuable water resources.
