We would like to thank everyone who came out to spend time with us and our partners at our annual Community Services Event! There was so much to do for everyone, from learning about fire safety, to seeing the equipment used by our Fire Department, Solid Waste and Wastewater departments, to playing in the jump castle, and even watching Meducare’s air ambulance helicopter land, and meeting their crew!
Special thanks to everyone who helped make this event outstanding: Lowe’s for hosting the event, Charleston, St Andrews, St Johns, North Charleston, Mt Pleasant and Folly Beach Fire Departments, Meducare, Charleston Riverdogs, Carolina Stingrays, Carolina Children’s Charity, Royal Restrooms, 98 Rock, CERT Team James Island, Red Cross, Cromwell’s Castles, Consolidated 9-1-1 Center, Liollio Architecture, Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union and most of all, all the people who came out to spend time with us! Thanksgiving Holiday Closing and Solid Waste Schedule
In observance of Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, our offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23, 2018.
Solid Waste services Thanksgiving week are as follows:
• Monday and Tuesday: Regular collection services
• Wednesday: Weds & Thurs collection services
• Thursday and Friday: No collection services
• Regular garbage/debris collection will resume Monday, November 26.

Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans—living or dead—but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime. In observance of this important holiday, JIPSD offices will be closed Monday, November 12th.
All Solid Waste Services will be conducted one day later than your regularly scheduled day.
