The JIPSD Offices will remain closed and resume normal operations on Monday, January 27th. We encourage residents to stay off the roads until they are safe for travel. Due to landfill closures and treacherous driving conditions, we will resume solid waste collection on Monday morning and will be running normal routes as well as running extra equipment to ensure all routes are serviced as quickly as possible. Regardless of your pick-up day, please place your cart on the curb by Monday morning.  For wastewater emergencies, call 843-795-2345. 

Due to inclement weather, we will close normal operations at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The Solid Waste department will run normal operations on Tuesday. All operations will be suspended on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Weather permitting, we will resume normal operations on Thursday, January 23, 2025. We will be running extra equipment to ensure all routes are serviced by Friday. JAMES ISLAND PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Public notice is hereby given that the James Island Public Service District Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at James Island Fire Station 1 located at 1108 Folly Road Charleston, SC  29412 on the proposed amendments to Section 4.8 Leak Adjustment and Appendix C CWS Treatment Plant Component Impact Fee of the Wastewater Collection System Use and Rate Resolution No. 24-06. Public comments, written and oral, are invited.

Our offices will be closed Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. During the holiday week, garbage and trash collection will occur one day later than your regular collection day. If you have a Wastewater emergency, please call 843.795.2345.

The yard and bulk debris routes will follow the same schedule. Any yard or bulk debris not collected will be collected the following week. Please put your carts out as soon as possible, there will be extra equipment out all week to ensure all garbage routes are completed.
